1969 MG Roadster Additional Info:

Looks like an MGB but the MGC, which was only in production for 3 years (67-69) has an inline 6 cylinder with 145 HP with 2912 CC displacement. Visually, the bonnet has a bulge exclusive to the C-series needed to accomodate the larger and taller engine. MG only manufactured 8,999 C's during its 3 year run and only 2,483 roadster convertibles were sold in the US.
Aside from the original owner, this car has remained in my family passed down from my grandfather to my Dad who is a true British sports car geek and did a full restoration on this MGC in the early 2000's after restoring my first car in the 90's, a 1974 MG Midget. Odometer reads 65,020 but actual mileage on the restored engine is only a few thousand. Body is free of scratches or dents. New carpet interior and trunk and convertible top is in great shape. Transmission is a manual 4 speed with overdrive operated with a switch. Smooth running engine with aftermarket electronic ignition. Aside from the bag of receipts I have from all of my Dad's past work, the repairs I've had done in addition to regular maintenance since 2018 include:
* left brake caliper replacement* replacement of both drive shaft U joints* replacement of alternator* rear brake adjustors repaired* replacement of lower king pinbushings
Some recommended work not yet done include:* replace spring pads* replace tie bar bushes* replace rear axle straps* replace valve cover gasket* replace front shock bushes
Full disclosure:* the tires hold air well year round but likely due for replacement soon* although there is no visible rust on the car's exterior, there are some rust spots under the floor and on the inner rocker panels* passenger side rearview mirror needs re-attached* plastic center console is broken at the hinge so top is not secured* speedometer bounces between 10-15 MPH while driving so actual speed is not able to be determined
This is truly a fun car to take to the road and most enjoyable on the open highway. You're not going to get 0-60 too quick but with the overdrive there is quite a bit of back end power for the open road. Single cassette tape deck with 2 Pioneer speaks in working condition. 5th wire wheel and tire not shown but included. I would love to hang onto this car for the summer joy rides but with 3 kids and 1 about to start driving, garage space is at a premium! Thanks for taking a look and please let me know if you have any questions or want additional pictures.
