1949 MG T-Series Roadster Additional Info:
The Singer motor company manufactured the Singer motor car between 1939 and 1955, approximately 11,000 vehicles were produced in total. They were assembled in Coventry England. The Singer Roadster was launched in 1939 using an open version of a Bantam Saloon. They stopped manufacturing for a short period of time due to WWII after which time they continued on with their business.
This particularly little Singer Roadster is classified as the Singer 4A Roadster. It is very similar to the earlier modeled Singers built but with one unique difference they introduced a 4 speed manual gear box in the 4A's this was continued through to the end of their production in 1955. The motor consists of a 1074cc which developed a 36bhp capable of achieving close to 100klm per hour or 65 miles per hour. The total number of 1949 4A Singers produced was around 1,500 and all 1,500 were built right hand drive for right hand drive countries.
This lovely vehicle has had endless time and money spent to bring it up to a very good driver. The tonneau cover, the hartz top and side curtains all present well . It is complete in every way and is priced well under the restoration costs. This is an ideal vehicle for someone who wants to maintain and service a restored product
around 20 known to exist in the states------ so this is extremely rare-
