1959 MG MGA Additional Info:
. This is a 1959 MGA 1600 project I picked up recently in a package deal down in Tucson..This is a total project that needs to be gone thru top to bottom, in and out. It is not a car you can bring to Earl Schieb 99 buck paint and flip it for 5 times your money. It has been sitting forever. It is missing some parts, but most everything is there. No radiator,no bottom seat frame, wood floors shot,,no frame extension, front bumper or grille etc. It looks like WW2 but under all that is a beautiful original paint, what is left of it,and a knockout rustfree body and frame. And speaking of war, there is a bullet hole below the rear bumper. I really have no history on this MGA. Other than it has a roll over roll bar that I have not seen in use before, looks like it would work if you keep your head toward the middle in a roll over. Good luck on that. It has part of a vintage racing seat belt of some kind that would at least keep you in the car. The upper left side of the grille opening has a tear in the metal. And the lower intake panel is out but included in the trunk. Along .with some toasty side curtains and the convertible top frame. The engine is what I think is a Riley 4/72 or Farina 1600. Which is pretty much identical to a MGA 1600 except for the valve cover badge. I tried to run the engine plate stamped number and came up with that. It is complete, turns over easily and should run again with overhaul. How much overhaul, I have no clue. I do have a clue how nice, clean, original and rustfree this body is. It is one of the nicest I have seen that has sat in the desert sunshine for decades and decades. Clear straight Arizona title in my name ready to go.. . I travel around mostly the west Coast and might be able to get it to you or close for reasonable money. I can arrange shipping to Long Beach California shippers for export for $300 no problem. MGAs are getting harder and harder to get in any shape these days. . Especially as solid, clean and rustfree as this one
