1974 MGB Roadster
This 1974 MGB Roadster has been with the second owner since 1979 and was recently refurbished in 2015 witha color changefrom black to a custom metallic gold.The 1800cc inline-four benefits fromanew cylinder head withhardened valve seats, a Pertronix electronic distributor and coil, an thermostatically-controlled auxiliaryradiator fan,and a Tourist Trophy performance exhaust system with new headers. Anew clutch has been fitted to the 4-speed manual transmission, and other workincludeda new interior, with new seats, carpets, gauges, interior panels, and a rear tube shock conversion. Nearly all of the upgrades were done in the last three years and 3,800 miles. This MGB is sold with a clean Floridatitle in My Name.
Originally finished in “Tundra” (an olive green), the seller had the car repainted in a custom metallic gold polycrystalline paint in 2015. During the refresh the seller also fitted new chrome bumpers and over riders, new chrome side moldings and mirrors, and a new Triplex windshield. The seller had the rockers cut out and replaced, and fitted new stainless steel rocker panel covers. The driver’s side dogleg was cut out and replaced at the same time.
The exterior lighting has been modified withLED bulbs in the third brake light and brake lights. A black front air dam was installed.
The cabin has been fitted with seats from Moss Motors, new carpets forthe floors, trunk, and spare tire cover, new interior side panels, new seat belts and guides, new under-dash liners, and new switches and indicator lights.
The original instruments have been replacedwith black AutoMeter gauges in the stock locations. The seller states that the speedometer is off by a 4:3 ratio, and will indicate 60 mph when the GPS shows 45. 3,850 miles are currently shown on the replacement odometer, though the seller states that the true mileage is about 135k.
Power comes from an1800cc with dual SU carburetors. The engine bay has been modified cosmetically with louvered aluminum panelsboth fore and aft of the radiator support. Numerous new parts and modifications are present, including the following:
