1977 MG MGB Special Additional Info:

Great looking MGB Special in excellent mechanical condition. Car is very solid and well sorted. I've owned it for twelve years, the only reason I'm selling is because I had the opportunity to purchase a '66 Porsche 912. I have $12,900 in receipts for mechanical work done on the car during my ownership. This was done at Riverside Sports Cars, Duffey's European Auto, along with a few odds and ends I installed myself. Has been converted to dual SU carbs with manual choke from a '69 MGB, fully rebuilt along with chrome header, braided steel fuel lines, K&N filters, etc.
Car has way too much mechanical work to list, but includes:
Pertronix electronic ignition
full exhaust
timing chain
water pump
upgraded radiator
alternator
steering rack with tie rods
brakes
all four rebuilt hydraulic shocks
clutch and brake hydraulics
SU solid state fuel pump
fuel tank with sending unit
heater control valve (fan does not work)
I have many pages of detailed printouts from Riverside Sports Cars where most of the work was done. I was told by them that the electrical system in the car is in great shape since it's never been pulled apart and messed with. All the gauges work great except for the clock, which works occasionally.
Was repainted in '89, I bought the car from someone who had known the car since day one as he was friends with the original owner. Runs great, plenty of power with the nice rumble of the earlier MGB's. Has great steering, tires, and alignment. Comes with cover, reprint owner's manual, vanity Iowa license plate, logbook of every oil change that I had done, and all receipts during my ownership, Includes written appraisal of the car from Harv's Auto Body stating the condition being between a three and a four with value at $5,200. This was in 2005 before I put the $12,900 into it. Once again the only reason I'm selling it is because I bought the Porsche.
