1974 1/2 MGB GT
Today we are offering a wonderful little MG. My son purchased this car about3 years ago.His plans have since changed so he wants it to go to a new home. This is one of only 1272 Gt's imported to the US that year, and was probably among the last here before production ceased. It was manufactured in November.
When he purchased it the car hadreceived an engine rebuild by previous owner along withnew gas tank, exhaust, suspension bushings, brakes, windshield, quarter window glass and several other things but I can't remember what else. I have owned lots of MG's in my lifetime and I have to say this is the most reliable engine of any I've ever had. Starts right up even after sitting for several months. Has great power with no noises, or smoke. The car has a weber carb, pearson manifold on it. She drives nicely, shifts fine. Has overdrive but needs electrical to overdrivelooked into. This little car is a blast to drive.
As for the body it has the normal MG rust issues. Floorboards have issues, rockers, which he has a new set of rocker panels to go along with car, and wheel arches need attention. It needs some work on turn signals as I recall, but headlights, brake lights work. He installed a new aluminum radiator and she never even thinks about overheating. This is a nice little driver car that you can enjoy while tinkering with it. Gets great gas mileage. Interior is presentable, not show quality but a good driver .
