1973 Mercury Other Additional Info:

Up for sale/trade is my 1973 Mercury Marquis with 21k original miles. Barn find type car rescued from a garage where it was stored for 15 years or more. Purchased from the original owners son, but basically a one owner car. Originally bought at Hinder ford- aberdeen MD and still retains the hand written bill of sale from the dealer. Car is a true survivor and presents VERY well for the age. "Dark green poly" paint shines up and presents well, but has many small imperfections and flaws from sitting or chips from road use. 98% rust free (has light surface rust on uncoated surfaces on the underside) Bottoms of the doors, wheel wells, floor and trunk pans etc are rust free. Likewise Green vinyl top is in great shape. No wrinkles, rips, or tears. Interior is absolutely perfect aside from some slight wear on the carpet below the drivers feet. Headliner isnt sagged in the slightest. Still has the "starting instructions" sleeve over the drivers mirror. The entire interior retains full deep color in all plastics/vinyl/fabric. Nothing is brittle/weather beaten. Seats dont even look like they've been sat in. Dash and weather stripping are soft and pliable. Everything works. All manual windows/doors/accessories, flip up headlight doors, wipers, vacuum auto release emergency brake, choke. Non AC car. Engine is a 429 cubic inch big block ford which runs well, mated to the 3 speed auto trans which shifts crisp, and accurately. Tires have been replaced with white wall radials (original bias ply's were extremely dryrotted and dangerous) retaining a white wall bias ply in trunk as the spare. I've went through the car and addressed anything I saw fit/it needed to be a solid cruiser. This entailed the fuel tank/sending unit/fuel pump and cleaning out all the lines. The carburetor was replaced with an NOS unit. The points and plugs were also replaced. Brake fluid was flushed and rear shoes adjusted. Water pump had bearing play and was replaced with an aluminum one. Radiator was leaking at the side tank and was replaced with a Brass OEM equivalent. Car starts/runs/drives as well as you could expect a 1973 Mercury to. VERY solid cruiser or project starter. Customize as a low rider/donk or leave it as it and enjoy classic style! PLease call with any questions. Adam- 443 fivetwoeight 4474. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell it off of ebay.
