1966 Mercury Monterey -- Additional Info:
Up for auction is a very original 1966 Mercury Monterey two-door hardtop fastback. This car was sold new on April 21, 1966 by Mr. Henry Winfred Coleman from Buena Vista Virginia, and was purchased at Courtesy Motors. It is sold with the original owners manual, vehicle protection plan, and an original touch up can! This car retains all of the original paint, the original interior, the original trunk mat, original headliner, etc... this car is VERY original. It is powered by the original 390-2V engine with power steering, power brakes, and factory air (not working). This Monterey runs very well. It does have a temperamental idle issues, may be an adjustment I'm just not sure. It drives unbelievably well, one of the best old cars I have ever driven. Runs smooth, down shifts accordingly, and goes through the gears as it should. It is showing 88k miles, however the speedometer and odometer are not working, so the true mileage is unknown. The brakes have recently been replaced and work well. The paint is pretty decent considering it's the original finish. There are obvious chips and a few spots that have been buffed through, mostly on the roof. There photos of all of these issues. The interior is completely original with the original rubber floor mats. The steering wheel is crack free upholstery is in excellent condition, and the headliner is near perfect. Radio is not working. The floors and frame is solid free of any rot. Trunk is also solid, retaining original spatter paint and trunk mat. This car is a great cruiser that with little work, would be a perfect daily driver. Please fee free to ask any questions, come inspect or send someone to check it out for you. Thank you and good luck!
