1951 Mercury
Here we have a very nice Example of the much beloved 49-51Merc's.
89000 Actual miles:
255 C.I. Flathead that has been bored 30,000ths It has a Quarter Race Cam By Isky. The rebuild was done 20-25 years ago is what I was told. It has Offfenhauser Heads, Arias FlattopPistons, Offenhauser Intake,(TripowerAutolite Carbs, Stromberg 97's.
It has been converted to a 12 volt Electrical System except for the dash with needs a reducer before putting fuse back in:
It is a 3-Speed with Overdrive:
It was tuned by Woods Automotive, It was given New Plugs, Cap, Rotor, new Points and plug wires. The Compression of the motor was 145 to 160 Lbs in all Cylinders, they did a flow test on the cards and adjusted. This was all done about 300 miles ago.
It has Dual Exhaust with Functional Lake Pipes:
The car has had one repaint:
Two Real spotlites with the mercury emblem on back, not wired up.
Wide whites with less than 1000 miles on them:
51 Fender skirts:
Spinner Hubcaps on Front:
All Chrome and Stainless very nice:
Doesn't appear to be any Bondo in the car, looks like if there was rust it was fixed with Metal:
It is dark green in color, looks real good for 20-25 year old paint, has a little cracking in a few places:
The Interior could use refreshed, there is a small hole in the headliner, small rip in the front seat on the side, All the chrome on the dash is in real nice shape:
