1965 Mercury Comet Additional Info:

This is a 1965 Comet that I had been looking for since I sold mine in '67. This car is from North Carolina, and is supposed to be an old race car that has been passed from pillar to post. As for my opinion, it is a tribute car. The fellow I purchased it from put the pieces back together as a starter car. It ran and stopped. From what I was told the 289 and the 4 speed were junk so a 302 and a T5 were installed. No rust that I have or could find. Steel hood with grafted FX bubble. I have pretty much finished it by making the clutch work smoothly, changing the sagging front bench for a new pair of early buckets reproed after early van seats. Has an 8" locker 4:11 rear. Front disc brakes, new springs front and rear, new wiring, traction bars, cheater slicks, new 3" exhaust with mufflers, headers, seat belts, new period steering wheel, fully upholstered interior, racing graphics are painted on and are not decals, other than the Autolite circle. Engine has been tuned, new 2-5/8" gauges mounted under the dash, 60's 2 piece Sun tach, new radiator, lights, turn signals, horn, hi beam switch, and dash lights all work. Many extra parts go with this auto. This vehicle is licensed and titled for street use. There is no expressed or implied warranty as this vehicle is over 50 years old.Bonus: If purchased before the close of this 7 day run, included in the sale will be a B/FX dual quad setup, fuel ready with twin 450 Carters, progressive linkage, fuel delivery, and air cleaner. Now is that an incintive or what?
