Selling a 1954 Mercury Monterey 2-door.
It is my family friend's car and I am helping him sell it. Growing up his brother had one and it was his dream to one day have a 2-door Monterey of his own. As the years went by he was able to purchase a few but due to the high price of them he never had one for too long.
Finally, four years ago he was able to purchase this one in hopes to restore it and drive down memory lane. He has since decided to part ways and start a new project.
This a rolling car - the engine and transmission have never been attempted to be turned it over(he was going to throw them away).As you can see thebody is a shell, all interior including the dash has been taken out.
He had half a dozen stainless steal straitened and polished along withseveral pieces chrome plated.
Most of the stainless steal is in excellent condition.
He has 95% of the pieces to put the car back together - interior, modern day seat springs, etc.
The body has a couple of rust spots but all in all this is a very straight and solid body. The doors line up very well, neither have any hinge slop which is indicativeof its low miles.
