1972 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Mercedes 220D 240D 300D w114 w115 w123 diesel Additional Info:

Beautiful classic 1972 Mercedes 220D diesel sedan with desirable four speed manual transmission and only 35,100 miles, clean California title in hand. This solid example comes with recent maintenance completed. The diesel engine runs smoothly and the manual gearbox shifts well.
It starts easily, runs smoothly, and drives the way an old Mercedes should, solid and unhurried.
The best part about this great classic is that it does NOT require smog testing.
The car has always been maintained, and I have service and maintenance records. The most recent service was just done, so it doesn’t need anything at the moment. We didn’t let things pile up; when something needed attention, it was taken care of.
The interior is original and in very nice shape for its age. The seats, carpets, panels and headliner (not sagging) have held up very well. The car has the factory working (even its illumination still working) radio Becker Europa. The dashboard does have a crack, which is common on these cars, but I have a correct replacement dash with no cracks that will go with the car.
The exterior still presents well. The paint shines nicely and the chrome is in very good condition. All rubber seals around the windows and doors are in great condition and soft to the touch without cracks. There are a few small dings and blemishes, around the car, nothing serious, just normal signs of use over the years and the trunk lid (only) has some crackle in the paint please check and magnify pic. no. 12. All windows are manual and working smoothly, there is no central locking, all lights, turn signals, hazards, illumination for instrument cluster, clock, odometer and everything else is in working order.
All manuals, California blue plates, service records and original tools are all present and included in the sale. This car runs strong, shifts smoothly with no slipping or excessively hard shifts.
Please note that this is not a museum quality vehicle, but it is a proper, well kept Mercedes that can be driven and enjoyed. I would like it to go to someone who understands these cars and will look after it the same way we did.
I have more pictures and videos of the car for the interested parties. Please ask all questions prior to bid.I will be happy to assist with shipping but I won’t be responsible for any fees.Thank you and Good Luck!
