82 Mercedes 300TD Wagon

1982 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series TDT Additional Info:

They don’t call the 300TD engine a million miler for no reason.At 236K miles, this 1982 wagon is just getting started and excels as a daily driver having never let me down.This was a second vehicle for me and unfortunately, I will be selling as I am moving out of the country.Everything is in excellent working order.All windows, locks and gauges working properly.Auto antennae staff, SLS, heat and a/c work without fail.

Under my keep, it has been garaged and covered when not in use.I do not smoke and have had no accidents.This version has the much sought after trifecta of sunroof, real leather seats (not MB Tex) and the rear facing third row seat.The interior cargo space is cavernous when all seats are laying down flat.

When originally purchased, the vehicle was in very good condition, but I have enjoyed knocking things off my list of minor issues that bothered me.All efforts were made to use period correct, Mercedes/OEM parts.All service was done by the inimitable Beverly Laurel Automotive in Los Angeles and detailing by Platinum Plus in Costa Mesa.

Items completed during my 6-year ownership in chronological order:

Replaced hock and engine mounts, center link, rear brakes, turbo oil grommet and o-ring seal, flex disc, guide rod mount, guide rod bushing, lower control arm bushings, front shock absorbers, transmission mount and antenna mast mechanism,

Steam cleaned engine, installed LED instrument cluster bulbs, replaced steering gear box, front end alignment performed and repaired left A pillar strap mount

Purchase and install of period correct Becker Grand Prix Radio w/ Cassette.AM stations do not work, but this was not an issue for me as I do not listen to AM.A hidden auxiliary jack has been installed to play from an alternate media source (iphone, etc).

Rear right door lock rod, left door check strap and speedometer cable replaced

Charging system test, replaced voltage regulator and battery, adjusted injection pump and air filter replacement

New OEM driver’s side door map pocket purchased and installed

Replaced ALL door and window sweeps/outer brushes, fuel tank sending unit, tail gate shocks

Cleaned instrument cluster interior and installed new under steering wheel dash panel

Install door trim for side rear view mirror

Full new interior carpets, window lace replacement and driver’s seat interior rebuilt by the amazing Thompson Tops, B pillar piping, repair R-hatch and new under-dash cover with matching grommets

New ignition lock bezel/trim and left driver window switch replaced

Oil change, front brakes, shifter bushing, hazard switch repair, replaced alternator

Replaced glove box liner

All four Bundt 14” wheels stripped and powder coated factory correct Astral Silver, new chrome lug nuts and center cap

Complete, extensive interior/exterior detail, pollution removal, ceramic finish, leather conditioning
