This 1972 Mercedes-Benz 450SL spent time at the Tupelo Automobile Museum and finished from the factory in Tunis Beige Metallic. The car has been repainted in a fabulous yellow color and is powered by a powerful 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in Palomino leather along with a matching center console and door panels. Equipment includes a brown soft top, 14″ steel wheels with painted covers, power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, fog lights, a power antenna, chrome-accented bumpers, and a Kenwood cassette stereo along with Jensen speakers. The 4.5-liter V8 features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 190 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows around 35k miles. Recent work included replacing the brake pads and rotors, new fuel pump, changing the transmission fluid, new battery, new drive belts, new floor mats, new spark plugs, new oil cooler lines, new transmission fluid lines, and new power steering hoses. There is a small corroded hole in the hood due wrong battery fitment (too big). There is a dent on the hood, a crack in the windshield, and paint chips on the door edges and around the body. The sun visors are a little loose, the dashboard is has line cracks, the driver's seat bolster is damaged, and the driver’s power door lock intermittently does not work. Note that the air conditioning system works but does not blow cold air so I recommend a recharge. This R107 is offered with a copy of a 1980 title, records dating from 2019, a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, a Becker Mexico AM/FM cassette stereo (needs to be tested), spare parts, and a clean California title in hand.
