1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SLClassic Silver Convertible Roadster
When you think back to 1984, one of the best marketing taglines generated by Mercedes Benz was,
“What do you get when you blend a Mercedes-Benz with a sports car?
The incomparable 380SL.”
The ad copy goes on to describe the “sporting pleasures” that the car delivers, courtesy of a welded monocoque structure, a fully independent suspension, a four-wheel disc brakes system, and contoured bucket seats. Such driving satisfaction can be yours to enjoy right now if you place a bid on this beautiful 1984 Silver Mercedes Benz 380SL Convertible Roadster that we have up for sale.
The car is being listed by a private seller.

We’re proud and excited to bring this 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL to market — a stunning Silver roadster that perfectly captures the spirit of European luxury and timeless design. This car is more than just a vintage Mercedes — it’s a true driver’s classic that still delivers comfort, class, and performance over 40 years later. It's really something thatonly 11,115 of these were built world wide for the 1984, so it's not something you see every day.

The “R107” chassis was a long-lived platform for the Mercedes-Benz brand – running all the way from model years 1971 through 1989. It was classified as a two-seat grand-touring roadster, although it could be optioned with a small rear bench. Design influence for the R107 was attributed in large part to Friedrich Geiger, the same individual who penned the famous Gullwing 300SL in the 1950s and 1960s. To this day, those cars are hailed as some of automotive history’s most attractive designs.

“Incomparable” is a strong word, but the fact that Mercedes-Benz left this car in production for nearly two decades says a thing or two about how confident the company was in its capabilities and timelessness. Also to note is the fact that the 107 model was the last of the Mercedes Benz hand assembled vehicles before they switched to robotic manufacturing.

This 380SL is a joy to drive — smooth, steady, and full of that unmistakable Mercedes character. It’s well-built, beautifully styled, and has that classic roadster feel that turns heads everywhere it goes. Whether for weekend drives, car shows, or simply adding to your collection, this SL is a standout example of Mercedes craftsmanship.

Why This Car Stands Out

This particular 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL combines classic style, lasting quality, and solid performance in one elegant package.

The car has been extremely well cared for and remains a beautiful example of the R107 series — a car that continues to appreciate in both value and desirability. The first owner purchased the car for his wife as a gift. The second owner did the same thing as the first owner, which was to purchase it as a gift for her. The vehicle service history is readily available showing the care and love afforded to this beautiful example.

If you’ve been looking for a clean, well-presented 380SL, this is your opportunity to own one of the most beloved Mercedes roadsters ever built.
