1989 MB 560SL Convertible, Hard and Soft Tops, Low Miles, Drives Great!!

1989 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class SL Additional Info:

This auction is for my 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL that I purchased here in eBay in July of 2022 with the intention to restore it to new condition with no mechanicals known issues at all. Drives very nice with low miles, 87015 miles. I hate selling it but I ordered two new vehicles that I thought I will never get but I did, but with limited time to work on it and needing room for the new toys I feel that is time for a new owner to enjoy this great car. The Benz is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Light Ivory over a brand-new German leather that I had replaced in the original Brazil brown color.

The equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a dark brown soft top, a body-color removable hardtop, silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, quad headlights, fog lights, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. The car spent time in South Carolina and Maryland before I bought it, and it now shows 87k miles. This R107 560SL is being auctioned with the owner’s manual, service records, a hardtop stand, a tool kit, a clean Carfax and AutoCheck report, and a clean Florida title under my name. In addition, I am adding all the replacement OEM MB parts I was collecting for the restoration process including a new top in original brown color, restored wood trim, chassis decals, dash cover, convertible hardtop stand (new) and other miscellaneous item. The car has been service since new and I have documentation of some services including the services I had done.

The car is finished in Light Ivory (623) and features a color-matched removable hardtop. Additional features include quad headlights, fog lights, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. The soft top stitching is coming out, the power antenna does not work, and various blemishes around the exterior are shown up close in the gallery below.

Silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with newer 205/65 Michelin Primacy tires. The car was factory equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The two bucket seats are upholstered in new Brazil brown leather, and interior amenities include an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, and automatic climate control. The radio does not work, air does not blow through the center dash vents, and the seat upholstery is torn.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 87k miles.

The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
