1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:

1983 Mercedes 300TD (W123) Turbo Diesel Wagon with only 175730 miles. Solid as a rock and NO corrosion observed in any of the typical problem areas, like rocker panels, wheel wells, jack points etc. All power windows work. Clean title, no damage history, and also exempt from CA Smog! Not many of these Wagons remain and they are increasingly hard to come by, constantly going up in value.

I am close to $ 11000 into this car but as I would like to stay married, I am prepared to sell my 300TD Wagon at a loss.

Chrome on the bumpers is very good, if not excellent. Car always starts, and drives and brakes straight as an arrow on four brand new (!) tires. Automatic transmission shifts properly and there is little engine blow-by. Built like a tank, this W123 Wagon provides a comfortable ride in addition to unsurpassed reliability and safety. With some basic maintenance, this car can still be your daily driver 25 years from now.Built 40 years ago, this classic W123 has some very minor dings and paint imperfections but is overall very presentable as you can see from the images.

Most recent repairs, maintenance and upgrades include but are not limited to:

1 Valve cover casket

7 Qrts engine oil

1 Oil filter

1 Fuel filter

1 Primer pump

1 Air filter housing mount

2 Reverse light lenses

2 Reverse light bulb holders

1 driver-side sun visor

2 Reverse light bulbs

2 Shifter linkage bushings

2 Shifter assembling bushings

1 Shifter selector light bulb

1 Drive shaft center support

1 Center support bearing

1 Hydraulic high-pressure hose on the pump

2 Qrt hydraulic fluid

1 Window switch

1 New Transmission mount

Glove compartment lock/hinge replaced

Repaired cargo nets on seat backs

4 new Nexen tires (bought and mounted 10 miles ago; rated for 60000 miles)
Battery tray repaired

Two new taillights

Still to be addressed, depending on the new owner’s preference:

- Power locks

- Cruise control

- Antenna

- AC (compressor spins freely and the AC clutch engages)

- Driver’s seat has two tears, temporarily fixed

- Rear wiper and washer

- Sunroof adjustment (sunroof does NOT leak; headliner shows no water stains)

Vehicle shows some wear and tear, as is to be expected from a 40+ year-old car. That said, completely restored, W123 Wagons like this one go for up to $ 60000:

Currently insured for $ 12000 as a collector’s car for only $ 100 annually. Clean FL title in hand, and DMV VIN verification for immediate CA registration has already been taken care of. This Wagon comes with some maintenance records, receipts, original manuals, and the original, factory-supplied First Aid Kit.

Drive "as is" forever or take it up to the next level over time.
