1992 Mercedes 190E 2.6
Up for auction is 1992 Mercedes 190E with a 2.6, sixcylinder motor. I have owned this vehicle for about six years and it has beenmy daily driver (during good weather). It has always been a garaged vehicle. Norust that I can find. A significant amount of work has been done to the carduring my ownership to maintain it as a reliable and beautifully driving andhandling car. Everything is up to date in terms of maintenance and as far as Iknow it needs nothing mechanically. There are no leaks. One of the last majorservice items that was performed was the timing chain. The mechanic said thatthe car has clearly been maintained very well. The engine components showed nosigns of wear and the interior components were very clean. The black exteriorwith gray interior is a stunning combination. The interior is in great condition. The only flaw in the seats is the bottom of the drivers seat which has a tearin it. I have another good seat bottom that will be included with the sale.Rugs are all clean and in great shape. Door panels are good and the only onethat is separating at the arm rest (very common issue with these cars) is thedrivers door panel. A good upholstery shop should be able to repair it. Nocracks in the dash. The exterior of the vehicle looks good with the exceptionof the hood. The previous owner had it repainted but it was less than aperfect job. I had always planned onrepainting but never got around to it. These 190’s are getting hard to come byespecially in this condition.
The Hagery Insurance Company values these cars as follows:
Concours condition $19,400.00
Excellent condition $12,000.00
Good condition. $6,000.00
Fair condition.$3,400.00
I would classify this car closer to excellent than goodcondition. A little paint work and it would definitely be excellent.
