1976 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Additional Info:
1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Roadster. Zero rust 68 thousand original miles well documented and maintained. Astral Silver Metallic with a blue leather interior. This car is a mostly unrestored survivor, with the exception of one re paint (the hard top retains its original paint) and an upgraded stereo, this car remains as it was when new. The car has spent much of its life in storage and due to this fact was completely gone over mechanically beginning in 2004 and ending in 2009 using only parts sourced directly through Mercedes-Benz, a massive amount was spent on parts alone and all receipts are included. Vehicle still retains its factory owners manuals, service records, spare tire and tool kit. The car was backed into in a parking lot in 2012, the passenger side quarter panel took minor damage above the tail light and will need to be painted. Immediately afterwards the car was put into climate controlled storage where it remained until a few weeks ago. The odometer seems to be not functioning since it has left storage. I dont recall the odometer moving on the way back to my garage, although I am not positive and have not driven the car since, as it is now unregistered. This would be due to the plastic gear on the odometer slipping and is not a difficult task to complete. The mileage is less than 100 miles above what is shown on the odometer currently if it is infact not functioning. The title states the actual mileage as 68,154. The passenger side seat has a rip in the lower section and would need repair the seats are currently covered with Mercedes-Benz embroidered seat towels the rest of the interior remains in very presentable condition. Keep in mind this is not a 25 thousand dollar R107, although it certainly could be brought to that level without much time or effort. What the car is, is a highly presentable survivor that shows at the higher end of a driver quality car. The car runs and drives as it did when new both in town and on the highway. This is a car you can drive anywhere at any distance with confidence. The car has no rust what so ever and never has, it is rock solid and will continue to be as long as it is properly cared for. These cars are skyrocketing in value and will only continue to appreciate, this particular vehicle would be rather difficult to replace. I am offering this car at no reserve with a starting bid of only 5500 dollars which is far less than the parts reciepts alone. The buyer is to assume shipping responsibilitys. This is an amazing example of an unrestored, well maintained Mercedes-Benz. This vehicle is not for sale locally and will go to the highest bidder. Bid with confidence.
