1980 Mercedes Benz 300SD - This is a very rare Mercedes 4-gear automatic transmission. (W116.120 OM617 D30A model with 120bhp (89kW; 112 PS) @ 4350 and Bosch injection pump Garrett turbine. This is the most powerful 5 cylinder diesel with Turbo diesel (170ft·lb) and the most reliable diesel engine Mercedes Benz ever made!!!
The turbo diesel of this car was original designed to be used in the Mercedes Benz C111 prototype (experimental only) making this car one of the fastest diesel on the road, the turbo really propels you forward almost doubling the speed you are in a couple of seconds. When the turbo kicks in, the car really fly forward! This turbocharged Diesel broke nine diesel and gasoline speed records in 1979!!!
Only 28k cars of this model where ever made and shipped to US and Canada, and extremely difficult to find one with such low miles and so well kept! The car's price in 1980 was $26,265 making is one of the most expensive car of the time!
The turning ratio of this car is unbelievable! Makes a U turn on a single line road!

Bought the car with 2400 miles only from his original owner and drove the last 18k miles in Florida. Changed oil and diesel filters every 3,000 miles. Recently serviced.

This 1980 Mercedes 300SD "S" class and "D" for diesel was made only from 1979 to 1980, the only W116 shaped diesel made only for the US and Canadian market, There are no 300SD W116 diesel in Europe or the rest of the world. the other 300D diesel is not an "S" class, therefore is not as roomy inside and comfortable as this one. Big difference, I have both and I can tell the difference in comfort, car displacement on open road is not even comparable to other Mercedes models.
MB Text seats are original, and in excellent shape: no indentures from sitting-weights, no tears no scratches, looks brand new. No faded, no scratches, no rips, no torn stitching. Amazing for a car of this age.
Original Carpets that came with the car...excellent condition, no marks or dirt or drops or any signs of deterioration whatsoever, they look like they were installed yesterday..
No oil leaks, no water leaks, no mechanical issues whatsoever. I add diesel additive every 1,000 miles.
You will not find a drop of fluid in your garage floor anywhere from this car!
NO CRACKS on the steering wheel or stick shift knob at all!
This is a "Smoke Free' car, I don't smoke and don't let anybody in the car that smokes. The car cigarette lighter is used to charge my iPhone, which is in working conditions and it has never been used as an ashtray and you can tell that it is in brand new condition.
One of the last Mercedes made by hand, the quality of this car is amazing, you can feel it when you drive it.
Despite being a very heavy car and diesel, this car is extremely fast and the turbo diesel kicks right away, if you press the gas pedal quick.
No rust or accidents. Very well kept car.
Great gas efficiency, around 25 miles per gallon in the city and around 29 on open road.
