Gorgeous original 1985 380SL coupe/roadster, only 52,XXX miles. You will rarely find a cleaner, better preserved original SL. Only change is, when we bought the car it had chrome wheels that I didn't care for. I love the vintage look of hubcaps, so traded for steel wheels and matching hubcaps, giving it the look of an earlier 70s SL. Original style alloy wheels are readily available both new and usedif the vintage look isn't your thing.
Car has always been garaged and appears to have rarely seen the sunlight given the condition of the paint and upholstery. The convertible top was replaced not long before we bought it, but I've never used it. We just remove the hard top for open air driving.
Car comes with a rolling dolly for holding the top, and also a manual winch hoist where you can suspend the top above the car. With the hoist the top can be removed or installed by one person.
It's been my wife's car for the last couple of years and has pretty much literally been driven to and from church on Sunday. We've never had it in the rain or on salted roads. It is a real beauty.
For comparison, Hagerty classic car valuation tool lists $30,300 for #1 concours condition, or $20,700 for #2 excellent condition. NADA lists high retail as $30,400 and average retail at $20,400.
Note I am in St. Louis, Missouri and prefer only face to face transactions. I will not put a deposit down for shipping if you say you will buy it sight unseen. Buyer will have to pick up or arrange your own transportation.
This is a wonderful car and I hope can find a good home.
