1992 MERCEDES BENZ 300CE - Coupe

Up for auction is a nice 1992 Mercedes Benz 300CE (wdbea51d1nb579902 ) with an odometer reading of approximately 121,4XX miles, white exterior, and gray interior.

Highlights:

· 2 owner vehicle – current owner owned last 19 years

· Low miles for a 24 year old vehicle – Averaged 5K miles per year!

The w124 300CE coupe was a flagship model of Mercedes in the early 90’s. Since this is now a 20+ year old vehicle, this is a rare chance to own one in a well maintained condition.

Exterior:
This vehicles’ exterior is in good shape, but has some mild imperfections such as dings, chips, and scuffs on the exterior. All exterior lenses, trim, emblems, and rubber moldings are present and in good condition. The front headlamp lenses that are commonly in poor shape are sound. The glass is clean, clear and mostly original, and all interior trim and accessories are present and accounted for. (The windshield may have been replaced at some point, but not 100% certain) There is evidence that the driver’s side has been repainted, and some rust repair was performed (a couple spots on the driver’s side: DS door center near the molding, and front fender.) With some minor body work, condition would be upgraded to an excellent vehicle.

Interior:
The interior is very sharp and clean. The seats are in good shape (Note: seat springs are in good condition), with one hole in the driver’s side seat back (extremely common with Mercedes) and some bottom wear in the front seat material. Replacement driver seat backing material is included with the sale of this vehicle. The dash and wood are in excellent shape and the carpet looks nice all around. A full-sized spare tire along with a vehicle jack, iron, and MB tool set are located in the trunk.

Mechanical:

Mechanically, this 300CE runs and drives very well. The motor fires up quickly, the steering is smooth and easy, and the suspension feels to be in great shape with no abnormal “bumps” or “squeaks”. The transmission shifts well at the proper shift points, and the brakes stop the car confidently. All mechanical accessories are functional (except cruise which intermittently operates), and the tires are in good condition. There are NO illuminated fault lights when running

*(Advanced note for those knowledgeable with Mercedes: Fuel distributor is in good mechanical order. The plunger “floats” well, but feel it could use some additional ‘exercise’, as it has been infrequently driven for the last couple years)

1 Oil, filter, and coolant.

2 EZL control unit

3 Full tune up (Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Ignition Coil)

4 Battery (old battery sat dead for a couple years)

5 Brake Linings front and rear

6 Both Motor Mounts (old ones hydraulic struts were dead. Now idles VERY smooth)

7 Upper Strut Mounts (old ones had cracks)

8 All New Copper Fuses (not aluminum) which causes corrosion and electrical issues

9 Wiper Blades (windshield and headlight)

10 AC: R134 AC conversion was performed with new AC dryer. System does not leak refrigerant. AUX fans operate as intended when AC is operating

I am happy to assist with vehicle shipping however all arrangements must be coordinated by the purchaser. Payment must be completed before loaded for transport. This vehicle is also available for local pick-up, as I'm happy to meet you at the airport or nearby transportation terminal.

Why is this vehicle being sold?

Car has basically sat for the last 2 years in the owner’s garage requiring service (bad EZL). Current owner has lost interest in repairs and upkeep, thus it’s time to find her a new home.

Registration: This vehicle has a clear Illinois title (no leans, no salvage) in the owner’s name. I reserve the right to end the auction early if an issue arises or if someone decides to purchase early. 2 Keys are included with vehicle purchase

$200 down via PayPal is required, no later than 24 hours after auction close. Due to a previous attempt at fraud, payment will be transacted by the following methods:

If paying via cash or quick pay, the cash/title exchange will happen at a local Chase bank branch. Under no circumstances will direct bank account information be exchanged by either party.
