1968 250SL Mercedes-Benz (Same family for the last 50 years!)
History: The car was purchased new by Eaton McMillan and returned to the dealership six months later then Joe’s dad bought the car (1968). It has been in his family for 50 years.
Engine & Transmission: The four speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and runs strong. The 6 cyl engine (see video) is numbers matching. Owner has manual that shows services by the dealer.
Body: Original paint it still on the car. (Light Ivory 670 H) With (Havana Brown 408 G) hard top and wheel covers. Factory colors.

I would grade the paint a 5 on a scale from 1-10. It has some small dings in the doors and body and a ding on the nose getting into the grille. The rubber is dry and cracked in places. The trunk area has had some repair work and has newer black paint. It hads the factory spot welds on each front fender and headlight guides are present showing front fenders have not been replaced. The car has never been hit. Hood code matches data plate. Good gaps and door, hood, boot, and trunk operation is nice. Great original car.
Interior: The interior is original and has not been touched. All wood in hard-top is in good shape. The wood on dash is weathered. The door skins and dash are nice. The chrome bits in the interior are great. The gauges are clean of any fog and look good. Aftermarket radio in dash and the radio delete plate that shipped with the car looks new. Seats are good and benefited from having sheep skins on them. New soft-top with a small hole on drivers side. Carpet is original and worn in places. The steering wheel center is very nice and glovebox is very clean.
Summary: This is awonderful original example of an Iconic Mercedes-Benz. It is nice to use as it is or a perfect example to restore since it has never been hit and is numbers matching. You don’t come across 50 year ownership every day. Now it is time for the next owner to enjoy the car.
