1970 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Additional Info:

Mercedes 300 SEL ROTE SAU TRIBUTE
Year 1970
8 cylinders 3.5 liters
This car is a tribute to the original vehicle, which disappeared shortly after the race at the 1971 Paul Ricard circuit, with which it shares bodywork, series and year. This version also equips an eight-cylinder engine but uses the 3.5-liter version of high compression and manual transmission instead of the 6.8 ocompression and automatic transmission of the original. The improvements in the admission, escape and the manual change provide to this version a power equal or slightly superior to the original one.
This car was one of the first jobs performed by AMG for Mercedes Benz. This year marks the 50th anniversary and the car has been restored respecting the modifications made in its day (AMG tires, Dunlop tires with the same original design, etc.)
The car is sold with the optional extra of the original medals obtained by drivers Hans Heyer and Clemens Schikentanz in the last race played by the original car at the Paul Ricard circuit.
This vehicle was purchased in the vicinity of the Paul Ricard circuit.
