1975 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Additional Info:
RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT EBAY USER-IF YOU SUBMIT OFFER AND IT'S ACCEPTED...NON-REFUNDBLE DEPOSIT IS DUE (AFTER ACCEPTED OFFER) or there will be no deal....I am sick of dead beat non payers....Hello all: Up for bidding is a 1975 Mercedes Benz 450sl. I am selling this to settle an estate of my grandparents. Car is showing 58,399 miles. You are looking at a 1975 450sl Mercedes Benz. Car had been sitting for awhile under the carport. I cleaned the car and checked the fluids. Dropped the fuel tank and connected it back, put new fuel in car, moisturizer in fuel tank, oil changed, all new fluids and car started right up- after a few years of not being driven often. I continue revising listing because of things that I am being reminded of (there are no headrests for the seats) I have looked everywhere and can't find them. Also the sun visors were removed and they are no where to be found either. I would say that within the last 15 years, this car has been driven less than 4,000 miles (off and on) I took the car down the highway last night (last pic)(went to Chik-fil-A) This car runs, drives, and stops without issues HOWEVER there is a tap from the engine.(Being that I have owned and currently still do many many Mercedes Benz. I took car to my mechanic and car is either having a lifter noise or injector noise (which is common for these cars) I have been told from many that my grandparents drove the car this way for many many years and was never a problem. Tires are older and should be replaced if driving long highway miles but driving local or short distances (which is what I am doing) tires seem to be fine. While driving this car- This is what I have found. Aftermarket radio does not work, a few cracks in dash (see pics), Heat & AC does work (climate control seems to be working as it should) AC however will need to be recharged (after all, It has been sitting for awhile) there are no cracks in glass, Spare tire and jack included. Hard top as well as soft top with car ( I do not know the condition of the soft top because I am not going through the trouble to remove the hard top to check) PLEASE NOTE: While I was driving this yesterday- the cluster for the odometer went out (mechanic said that this was a common problem as well with these older sl, 240d, & 300d Mercedes Benz. There is a few chipped spots in paint but still a very presentable car. There are a few bulbs out on the car that will need to be replaced. There is a 560sl third brake light that was installed many years back and represents the car very well. This car at some time has had a re-spray (unsure when) so age of that is unknown. This is a perfect example of a good NC 450SL.
I have found very little surface rust on this car. This would be a great candidate for someone wanting a seemingly rust free car to restore.
I do my very best to described all of my auctions to the best of my ability and with my feedback- I would say that I do a pretty good job with that. With this being said, If you have any questions please feel free to ask and if not Happy bidding. Please NOTE: If you find yourself bidding on this item and don't follow through with the transaction- You will find yourself in a court of law- this is a legally binding contract and will be held as such. My wife is an attorney and I/we do not need the money, this is a way of settling an estate. I can further be contacted at 919-675-8287 for any other questions, etc. etc. Please also understand that if an offer is accepted that is a binding contract to sell YOU the vehicle, not have YOU come and look at it, then you try to negotiate and decide if you want to purchase. AGAIN, Please feel free to ask and and all questions, you are welcome to view and inspect car prior to listing end time.
Thank you in Advance
