1977 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Additional Info:
GENERAL: The body style, R-107, is aconvertible that also has a removable hardtop. Under the hood is a V-8, 275 ci., 4520 cc., water cooled, 4 stroke gas engine.
CONDITION: This automobile has 98,000 miles. The engine runs like new, the transmission shifts smooth & perfectly & the 4 disc brakes stop the car as it did in 1977. Many of these old 450SL's you find are often missing parts here & there. Now, there is NOTHING missing that I am aware of. Also to the best of my knowledge, everything is stock with the exception of wire wheels.
MECHANICAL: Excellent running condition. AC knob is loose and needs to be replaced. The antennae needs to be graphitedor replaced as it sometimes gets stuck. The emergency brake sensor is on. Has been since I owned it as well as the prior owner. It could be replaced or you could continue to use it as is. Car has new battery.
INTERIOR: The interior is done in Mercedes Blue. The seats are in great condition. The carpet is all original and is also in great condition. All gauges work including the clock. There are three cracks in the dash.
EXTERIOR: The car appears to have NEVER been in an accident. I have lifted the car and looked under for any signs of damage or rust & have found none. The body lines, the doors, trunk, hood etc.. line up perfectly. The chrome is very nice. The convertible top is is new. The paint is in Excellent Condition. This car is a real head turner!
SUMMARY: Basically, you have a verymechanically sound, classic roadster that you couldnot put another penny in and drive as is. Original working Becker stereo with cassette. If you have any questions or would like to take a look at this classic up close, please don't hesitate to contact me.
INVESTMENT: According to many classic car articles & websites, the 450SL is primed for a jump in value. Reasons given both the age of the car and the value of the SL models just previous to the 450. The 280, 250 & 230 SL's from the 60's have already risenquite a bit in value. The 300 & 190 of the late 50's are ultra expensive.
TITLE: The Title is clear
