Car History
The car spent 48 years of its life in Sonoma County, California. Fortunate enough to never have seen snow - or extreme heat and it shows!
This vehicle was meticulously maintained by a Mr. Heinz since August of 1969. The vehicle was always garaged and covered, making the original interior quite magnificent.
The car was driven by Mr. Heinz name until his passing in 2010. Where the car was only driven sparingly for 7 years until his estate was gone through. The original 1969 pink slip comes with the car.
Exterior
As one would expect there are a few very small scuffs and scratches here and there, but nothing major. All my critique is with the mindset of making the car perfect!
Interior
The interior is as clean as I've ever seen a car of this age look.
The car comes with vintage matching Desert red floor mats — both in very good condition.
Mechanically
The car runs and drives. The handling is tight, the transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes stop on a dime. Runs free from any noises or squeaks. This is a very zippy car being standard... FAST.
With any old car, up-keep is needed and there will always be something to keep up on. But for me, that’s half the fun. The biggest thing it needs to be driven to run well!
Over 1,500 dollars in repairs in the last 6 months were well worth it!
I've made several mechanic improvements to bring the car back up to speed.
The fuel lines have been replaced, the fuel tank has been boiled and cleaned out, both Zenith carbs have been completely overhauled, timed and cleaned as well
With proper care, this car is only going to appreciate in value. I would be keeping it, but just don't have the garage space. and I’m hoping to find a new home that suits this car. I've been told by my master Mercedes Mechanic that this car could easily be a Concourse 1 vehicle with a minor investment.
**The mileage is very detailed documented and is 113,000 miles. Mr. Heinz did a great job documenting. So unlike many early Mercedes, the mileage is known!
