1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata 5X Racing Additional Info:

This Miata NA was prepared as a custom order by Miata specialists in Florida, 5X Racing. The purpose of the build was to create a little sports car specifically for running on the wonderful twisty back roads of north western New Jersey. The project started with a solid 1994 that was stripped down and painted. That chassis and drive train had a bit over 100k miles on it. Because we wanted a wider stance, 30mm offset wheels were used. This required a slight bit of fender rolling/flaring, giving the car a more racy shape. The car was lowered, resulting in remarkable handling and cornering. The Yokohama S tires are in very good shape, as is the very good condition soft top.
In order to get the more powerful NB engine, we sourced a clean 2001 VVT MX-5 engine with about 68,000 miles on it. To use the stock wiring harness and ECU, special connectors and a DIY Autotune VVT controller was added. In 2019 we replaced the ECU with a programmable and tunable MegaSquirt. That greatly boosted power, and has much more to go once dyno tuned. The original ECU comes with the car.
This is a solid little sports car that's great for romping around the back roads or for racing on track days. I will consider reasonable offers. See below for all the special modifications that make this car unique.
