1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata Mega Monster Additional Info:

**THIS IS A 'NO RESERVE' AUCTION**, Bid to win!

Listed is the sought-after Mega Monster Miata. Less than 4k (not a misprint) original miles! This may be the lowest mileage Mega in existence. I don't know of another with lower mileage. IMO that makes it one-of-a-kind. It's never been raced or abused. For most of it's life, it was part of the previous owner's extensive collection. I'm the second owner.

This car can accelerate and handle as well as or better than many Jaguar, Porsche, Corvette, and many other muscle and sports cars. It will easily outperform a Triumph, MG, Austin Healy, Sunbeam Tiger, and Mustang. It's of higher quality than most home-built Kit Cars and Replicas, including Cobras and Daytonas. No leaks, rattles, non-functional gauges, or cobbled together wiring here.

Built in 1992 by Monster Motorsports. This company built 250 – 275 Monster’s in the early to mid-90s. Only about 70 of them were Mega Monster Miata’s (these were supercharged). They were built on new cars and were turnkeys. None were sold as kits.

This 1992 MEGA MONSTER 5.0L SUPERCHARGED is ultra-rare, and was built by Monster Motorsports in Escondido, CA. The transformation of the Miata began with a complete tear down to the frame to strengthen it, with custom fabricated engine and transmission mounts, as well as an array of chassis reinforcements.

According to Monster Motorsports, the Mega Monster Miata will run 0-60 mph in a scant 4 seconds, and the quarter mile in only 12.2 seconds @ 118 mph, topping out at 175 mph.

The engine bays were fitted with new (not rebuilt) 5.0L EFI Ford V8 Engines. The Kenne Bell Whipple Supercharger provides relatively low (for longevity) 6.5 PSI of boost to lift the power to 400hp/375tq.Aspirated versions put out 225 HP.

The transmissions were new Ford T5 World Class 5-speeds in order to handle the added horsepower.New heavy-duty Ford Limited-Slip Differentials were installed for strength and improved traction.

Other upgrades include suspension components from a Mazda RX7 R1, 5-Lug hubs, uprights, and spindles. The double wishbone suspension maintains a solid and level footprint on the road, and includes upgraded forged aluminum A-Arms, adjustable gas-charged shocks, custom rate springs, and oversize front and rear sway bars with high performance nylon bushings.

These cars also feature improved brakes from the Mazda RX7-R1, with larger brake rotors and calipers. The exterior of this Mega-Monster Miata received wide body wheel flares and aerodynamics which include a fiberglass front bumper cover with enlarged cooling area, intake, integrated pop up headlights, and extra driving lights in the bumper, as well as. Monster Motorsports designed front and rear fender flares, quarter panels, rear valance, and custom center exit exhaust.

Exhaust is a stainless steel cat-back true dual system. At time of sale, it was advertised as emissions legal in all 50 states. It recently passed in my state (RI) and has current safety and emissions sticker.
Other body enhancements include a rear high raised deck-lid wing, a factory aluminum hood that has been louvered, bulged, and braced to allow for better cooling, and engine breathing. A soft top convertible and removable hardtop roof, and DOT-Approved Monster Miata 4-PointRoll-barfor added safety, and body strengthening.
The interior features Monster Motorsports black leather seating, custom matched & stitched leather door panels, and a boost gauge. It has a recent Kenwood AM/FM/CD, new door speakers, and a powered sub. Original radio and speakers are included with car for originality.
