1985 Maserati BiTurbo Additional Info:

Offered here is a piece of reality television show history from one of the most recognized and respected automotive shows airing today. This 1985 Maserati BiTurbo has been professionally converted to full electric power by EV West of San Marcos CA, and will have a full episode devoted to it in the upcoming season 13 of Wheeler Dealers on Discovery's Velocity Channel.

This car has a colorful history, as it was originally converted to electric power in the early 1990's. After being in inside storage for over 15 years, it has clocked a totalonly 39,000 original miles to this day. Removed from storage last year, the decision was made to bring it up to modern electric standards. It now features a Curtis Brushless single-shaft motor and twelve (12) 3KWh lithium-ion battery modules. With the thought process behind this build leaning more towards performance than range, it still has the capabilities of traveling 120 miles in between charges. And since it retains its original 5-speed manual gearbox, it offers acceleration and performance that will rivalmodern supercars costing 3-4 times its price. All components are brand new and have break-in miles on them only. It utilizes the normal mandated charging cord and can accept both 110 or 220 voltage to charge.

The car itself was updated with new brake calipers/pads and master cylinder. The original Maserati 14" alloy wheels were sourced and powder-coated in a Gunmetal Grey and feature new tires. An extra set of 15" BBS-style wheels will also come with the car (if wanted). The flywheel was also re-balanced to ensure smooth operation. The paint is in good driver-quality condition, and the interior has a couple of small areas that are starting to show its age. The windows have been freshly tinted. The car drivesvery well and is an absolute blast to operate. Itis definitely an attention-getting and great conversation piece ... not only for being a Maserati BiTurbo, but also for themodern technology under the 80's square hood.

Serious interested parties should contact me for full details on the purchasing process. The car may not be available for immediate delivery due to filming constraints.
