1984 Maserati Other Additional Info:
Up for sale is my 1984 Maserati Very cool EV project. I've Been working on it for about 3 years in my spare time. The car body is in very nice shape. It was totally repainted in 1997. 18000 original miles. I removed the broken V6 engine and installed a 120V DC series wound motor, Curtis on road controller, 120v battery charger and 2 battery modules from a 2014 Smart Fortwo Li-ion EV battery. There is a 12v battery charger on board but wires are not connected. I purchased the electric motor on eBay. it was listed as a Warp 9 Motor. I believe the DC motor is a ImPulse 9 EV DC Motor 72-156V, 400A Not a Warp 9. I don't believe this car will lay rubber but it should be able to cruse at highway speeds. Anyway it has most of the parts to complete. It can drive onto a trailer. There are no brakes. The emergency brake does work. The 4 piston calipers are sized and need rebuilding. The electric booster pump is from a Audi. Its needs to be hooked up. All electric options, Power windows, Blower, Original cassette tape stereo. even power antenna are in working order. The car needs EV electrical work. Obviously A/c pump has been removed. If needed the car will need electric A/C and heat installed. The car will need some paint work. the trunk clear coat is bad. The rest of the paint is very presentable. (see pics) It has the original Pirelli tires on the back from 1984 still good tread. fronts are new. Right front has a valve leak. The Clutch has been deleted. The Transmission is in good shape. All gears are operational. The odometer is operational. This car needs to go to a person that is a Auto Mechanic. That has the ability to work on electric vehicles. It drives but needs completion. Maybe the brakes can be upgraded to Brembo or StopTech. There are some surface rust on the rockers. No holes. A little rust is expected in a 80's vehicle. A friend and neighbor was helping me with this project and he since relocated to another state. The car can be easily be upgraded to a AC motor. The sky's the limit. There are a lot of EV Motors and controllers out there now. This would make a great winter project and conversation piece. The only other Biturbo EV out there was made by the "Wheeler Dealer TV show". Low reserve. Clean Florida title. The car is sold "AS IS!" I will welcome a vehicle inspection. I will answer questions to the best of my ability. The car needs to be towed. I will help load the car for shipping. There are no warranty's of any kind on this 35 year old car. $500 PayPal deposit is due at end of auction.Happy Bidding !
