Maserati 1965 Quattraporte sports saloon by Frua.A barn find ‘survivor’ which has been lovingly serviced to be a ‘preservation’ show car. Immensely drivable and road worthy. Original dark metallic grey with a burnished dark saddle leather interior. The hides are original and are in great shape. The car was professionally resprayed in the original color, ith all trim carefully removed. The intent was to keep the original patina where appropriate, ncluding all of the original stickers and identifying plates. Anything original to the car esthetically and functional has been left unaltered.
The car has been fully gone through mechanically by a qualified and experienced shop to make it better than new. The care and attention to keeping this car forever was the objective, hile making this historical remnant of Italian style relevant again. All chrome was redone. The leather is still soft and supple, nd has a great smell! You cannot replicate that originality.
This example is one of the few series 1 cars with De Deon rear suspension. Over 250 horsepower with a completely rebuilt motor, ransmission, rakes, ooling system and suspension. Nothing has been left undone. These were designed for the Auto Strada in Italy and could travel over 120 miles per hour. I’vedriven this car at speed and it is comfortable at speed. Unique to have electric windows on a car of this vintage. The handling and elegance of this Italian beauty is unmatched for this price range. The V8 with four Webber carbs has a great sound. The car was invited to the Quail Lodge concours and the Italian Concorso in California in 2014 for the 100th anniversary of Maserati and just last summer was accepted at the Art Of The Car in Kansas City. Over $100k spent, ithout consideration forthe dollar amount as my experiences this car has given me are priceless.
I have set a reasonablereserve price, ecause the car is truly for sale. I have some pressing financial obligations to tend to, r else I would never be selling the car.
