For bidding together two Maseraties from my dearest collection and i will tell you briefly how the story began:
First one year ago i bought a 1984 Maserati Biturbo in an extraordinary condition as the car was stored in a climate controlled storage for 15 years. It isentirelyoriginal, including paint and interior. The engine wasdisassembled by the previous owner for no other reason than a leakage in an oil seal and while the engine was apart he thought he wouldcheckall components for wear, as well as replace timing belt and all of the oldMaseratigaskets and seals. Because he had no time to complete such a project, he make sure that every component was individually wrapped and placed into its respective box. All parts weremeticulouslycared for when beingdisassembled. Cylinders are in exceptional shape. It would not take much to get it back into prime condition just a gasket set, timing belt and labor. The exterior of the car has a few dents and some smallscratches(as can be seen in the pictures). The dent in the rear was caused by the previous owner backing into a trailer hitch. The interior is immaculate andentirelyoriginal. The leather is still verysuppleand the car has been kept out of the sun so there is no sun damage or cracking. There is not a speck of rust to be found anywhere on the car. comes with the car comes with a comprehensive repair manual to assist the new owner in assembling the engine and an original tool kit that it is complete
For that reason i thought of buying a second one and when i looked around i was festinated by a very rare 1 of 297 made, Zagato Body a 1987 Maserati Spider whichwas serviced and owned by a top notch Maserati specialist Alex at HMI.He serviced it for one of his customers for a long time and he eventually purchased it from him before it actually moved to me. It comes with service records. It has the original paint with some oxidation on the hood and trunk lid. It has some very very minor rust bubbles (see pictures) on the front edge of the hood and on the left bottom of the windshield post and some scratches on the left rear quarter panel. All are an easy fix and the car can be spot painted since it has some good original paint on it. The interior needs to be redone as well as the Convertible top. It also needs tires. This car has a very good running fuel injected engine and 5 Speed transmissionand i have spent over $1500 to swap it to the Bi-turbo and was looking for an electrician to complete adapting the electrical components to run the engine and because finding a good one turned out to be very unusual i stopped at this stage .
