The body/chassis unit was recently soda-blasted to remove the old primer and then surface rusted areas were blasted clean with glass-beads. The car was then sprayed with black epoxy primer.
This Bora has the desirable Euro stainless steel bumpers, ot the DOT rubber bumpers.
The all-aluminum, .9 liter, -cam, 8 engine was disassembled. The crankshaft was ground, he cylinders were honed, he valve seats and valve guides were removed. New bearings, alve seats, alve guides, istons and rings were purchased but never installed.
The 5-speed manual ZF trans-axle is in good shape and comes with a new clutch.
Today, arch 8, 016, e finished unpacking all the parts and photographing them. We now know we're missing some parts. All the glass is there but not the windshield (which may have cracked). One seat is missing. We may still come up with the second seat.
Sixteen years ago, art of the plan for the restoration was to remove the troublesome Citroen hydraulic system so most of those parts are no longer with the car (probably sold years ago). We have one original rear brake caliper and two new Wilwood aluminum front brake calipers with the car. We still have the original hydraulicly adjustable pedal assembly but also an electrically adjustable pedal assembly which we were originally going to install since Bora driver seats do not adjust fore and aft. The pedals move up to the driver instead.
Interested parties can request a PDF file of photos (approx 180) of the car and all the parts.
