1979 Lotus Super Seven Additional Info:
LOTUS Super 7 Seven
A highlight for the true connoisseur. This classic LOTUS comes fully in the livery of the mythical Lotus brand with a 1700 unit based on the legendary Ford Kent, known from Escort & Co, along with compulsory Racing Weber twin carburettor. A soundscape for kneeling ...
This little precious was currently completely rebuilt. Here, the entire chassis has been renewed and kept in classic Battleship Grey (Lotus), the aluminum planking is also completely new and of course unpainted - only the original is made of aluminum ... and shows this as well.
Nose and fenders were painted in noble dream black. The front fenders are designed as a Cyclewing variant which gives a clear view to the work of the front wheels - a spectacle.
By the way, another highlight of this exceptional vehicle are the original LOTUS Exacton rims with contemporary correct 165er tires, spare wheel also suitable. The brake system is of course also renewed. In the front, a disc brake provides its service, the Liveaxle rear, which of course was also overhauled, has the correct drum brake.
The headlights are also Lotus-like in the 7 "version and contemporary painted in car-color, the ring in chrome. The large turn signals in front are also authentic, behind are classic round lights in the very early form to see, ie with flattened real glasses and stylish, a reversing light and a rear fog light was hidden under the license plate integrated - did you discover them? Of course, the entire lighting system has an e-approval.
Under the hood sits the legendary 1700 Supersprint engine, so the Lotus-tuned unit based on the rugged Ford Kent in a further performance increase, which thus on approx. 135 hp comes - at approx. 500 kg vehicle weight a real invitation to ride on the dragon. Era-correct is the 4-speed gearbox. The exhaust is, as with the left-hand drive models usually common, derived to the rear, so as not to cause emission load of the driver even when fully open. The magnificent roary carburetor sound is still preserved, some even say, this exhaust system creates a more goose bumpy backdrop. As part of the complete restoration, of course, radiator, alternator, etc. were renewed.
In the interior, another highlight awaits you: the classic round instruments are supported by a newly sealed real wood dashboard, which one sees only very rarely, but which fits wonderfully to the very classic look and feel of this piece of jewelry. Leather seats, leather sports steering wheel and carpet were prepared but intentionally not renewed to obtain this wonderfully unique patina, which offers so only a real vintage car and would be irretrievably lost in a renewal. This car has just character - and shows it proud!
The little one has a complete, divisible tonneau, which is integrated into the boot cover. So the vehicle can be covered on the one hand for parking, but it is also possible to close only the passenger side to drive, if you're traveling alone. In addition, this combination also allows a swap with the popular and legendary Brooklands Racing Screens. In addition, there are brand new, full-scale side screens (doors), these in the new version for more elbow room to drive, and a full-top. The classic Talbot-style racingmirrors on stainless steel tripods allow the ride completely open (without sidescreens).
The car is currently based in South Germany. Shipping to US is possible on extra costs. Please aks for additional fees/tax/customs etc. for import the car.
