1989 Lincoln Mark Series Bill Blass Additional Info:
1989 Lincoln Mark VII Bill Blass Coupe
Bill Blass said it best, "style is primarily a matter of instinct."
One owner, no accident history report. I have the original title from the original owner. Has the original owners manual as well. It is a Utah car but you would not know from its condition. Couldn't have been driving in the winter for how rust free it is.
While this is being sold under a dealership, I have personally driven this car for the past 3 months and it is in amazing shape. It is very original, even down to the radio. I have had many people guess how many miles are on it when seeing it and riding in it and they have all guess under fifty thousand miles, it is that clean. This car had to be garaged. The paint, chrome and interior wouldn't be this nice if it hadn't. This Lincoln was traded into a big dealership and I purchased it from them.
Body is in great shape. The chrome is nice and bright with no pitting. The paint looks to be original and is in very nice shape. I'm not a paint specialist but it doesn't look like it has been repainted. Still has the Bill Blass pin stripping. The chrome trim, grill, etc. are all in great shape too. There are only a couple of very small, dime sized door dings that are hard to see unless you are at the correct angle but could be removed by paintless dent removal easily.
The car starts right up and runs smooth. Cruising down the freeway at speeds this can is very quite in the cabin. Amazingly enough the majority of the functions still work. The instrument cluster works great. The heat and A/C work great. The climate controls function from defrost, vent and floor. The info center works as well. The clock keeps the right time and date. The only thing I have noticed is that occasionally the transmission shift from first to second will hesitate. Not slip, just hesitate. I have a 1988 town car right now and it shifts exactly the same way. It runs through all the other gears fine. The automatic leveling suspension still works. You can see it raise and lower with how many passengers it has.
The interior on this car is incredible. The cloth upholstery on the seats are in awesome shape showing minimal wear. It smells like it should. I don't see or smell any signs of cigarette smoke and the ashtrays are good as new. The seats are so comfortable that I don't want to get out of the car. Still has the original Bill Blass floor mats. The dash is not cracked, neither are the front or rear panels. The windows, door lock, interior light, exterior temperature gauge, compus, arm rest, everything is there and functions. Sunroof still works. Even the cup holder that slides out of the arms works, one of the metal bars on the bottom have come off but is still there. The ash tray compartment doors function although the front cigarette lighter doesn't have power, the rears do. Headliner is great too. The factory radio deck is still there and works. The speakers only work on the driver front side. Don't know if that is the factory deck or the other speakers that are bad but sounds fine in the drivers seat. The rear defrost comes on but only one or two bars on the glass heat up. The power antenna goes up and down but doesn't go down all the way. Power seat works in all directions.
Trunk is all there with spare tire, spare tire cover and tools. The automatic truck shut still functions and shuts the trunk so you don't have to slam it. Has original matching wheels and color matching caps. The car has matching Michelin tires that are older and at the end of there life. the tires still have some tread but I never drove it in the snow, not that I would have had a chance this winter in Utah with no snow.
All in all this Mark VII is in incredible shape for its age. I wouldn't hesitate to driver it any distance. This vehicle is sold as is where is. I have been very straight forward with condition, but what I think and you think might be different, if you have any question please email me. I'd be happy to take calls as well. You are welcome to come see it in person. Just email me and I will send you my phone number and address. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. $500 deposit is due within 24 hrs of sale date and the balance is due 7 days from sale date. Please bid to buy. You won't be disappointed with your purchase. I'd be happy to take the car within reason, 25 miles or so, to a place to be transported. This is being sold through York Automotive car dealership but there will be no addition fees upon purchase. You will pay the price that is bid, no surprises. Only condition is if you live in Utah, you will pay 6.85% sales tax on the auction price collected by the dealership but you won't have to pay it again when you register it.
