The Warthog is a standard 110 V8 (5 speed manual) Hardtop that the seller turned into a soft top.
It now sports a (satin black powder coated) roll cage with removable canvas canopy. On sunny days you can enjoy the wind in your hair and on rainy days snug and dry inside the soft top. Originally the hardtop is a 2 seater, but we fitted 2 (front) seats in the rear. The seat tops are upholstered with tan ripstop canvas (sides and backs in dark charcoal) that matches the canvas canopy.
Paintwork on the body and wheels is Santorini black pearl, a real lively color. The entire vehicle was cleaned up and resprayed, inside and out. For looks, the seller added a Puma hood and wheel spacers (2" wider) to go with the aggressive looking Bighorn Maxi tires and Terrafirma extra wide wheel arches (2" wider than standard). It is also fitted with KBX Hi-Force air intakes and accompanying sporty grille. The air conditioner was reconditioned and all lights were replaced by new ones. Indicator and rear lights are all LEDs with new halogen headlights. New lettering and decals and very clean interior. Inside door panels are as good as new.
Mechanically it was checked throughout, received a major service and where necessary parts where replaced. The seller replaced the thermostat and all bèlts by default. In the engine the hydraulic lifters were replaced. The right rear wheel bearings were replaced as well as all seals and rubbers where necessary.
The odometer on this truck was not working when the seller got it and stopped working around 110,000 miles (180000 km) but the seller’s best guess would be somewhere around 140,000.
Unless specifically used as a panel van for work, the hardtops were typically used as recreational vehicles. That is part of what the seller’s look for when the seller evaluate the trucks before deciding what level of restoration to do. In most cases the seller’s have to do a full restoration simply because the vehicle is not in good enough shape. This specific truck was most probably never used for work. That was clear from the condition of the bodywork and the load bin in the back. It also had a tow hitch in the front that tells the seller it was used to launch a boat or assist when someone is stuck in sand or mud. The seller’s best guess was that this truck was used for safaris, camping and recreation.
It has a trailer hitch with a 2 inch ball. It is easy to replace if you need a different ball size or hitch connection. The seller’s did not connect the wiring for a trailer as our fittings are totally different to what you use.
