1974 Lancia Fulvia
Great Condition
Great Color Combo
Very Strong Running
Very Fun to Drive
This 1974 Lancia Fulvia coupe is such a fun car to drive! I’ve driven or owned a lot of cars from this era and genre and I must say that I’m quite impressed. Although certainly not fast by today’s standards, it’s plenty quick and the little V4 sounds wonderful. The handling is excellent and the braking performance from its aluminum 4 pot front calipers is absolutely amazing for a car of that time period. This particular example runs like a top, starts easily hot or cold, sounds very healthy and does not smoke nor leave fluids on the ground. The car has had a recent oil and filter change as well as having most of its coolant hoses replaced as well as the coolant itself. The 5 speed gearbox shifts perfectly, makes no untoward noises and is oil tight. Lancia tended to use more durable bits and pieces than say an Alfa or many other cars built in that time frame and it really shows after 42 years. All the little things, like the door handles and the way the windows go up and down still operate in a smooth fashion. All the gauges work properly, right down to the clock, even the interior lights and inner door lights still function. The car has had one re-paint in the original color and has had parts of the interior restored in the last few years. In my opinion the car has the perfect amount of patina, and is very stock overall. The paint is of good driver quality, shiny and smooth. When the car was repainted it was done correctly with the windows out. There is no rust beneath the car and in fact the underside is in fantastic condition. The seats were re-done in quality vinyl and the workmanship is quite nice. I’m assuming that the dash pad was re-done as I can’t imagine it being this nice otherwise. The headliner appears original and is excellent condition. The arm rest/inner door pulls are in great shape, as are the window cranks and door handles. A lot of the details such as the window seals and the smoothness of the window operation are much better than cars of this vintage often are. There is a spare tire and owner’s manual included as well.
This car was imported from Italy and is currently located in Austin Texas. It will have a free and clear Texas title, and given the year should be easy to register anywhere in the U.S.
If you are considering an Alfa GTV or something in that genre you should really consider this car. These are every bit as fun to drive, well-built and quite a bit less expensive to boot.
