For sale is a ONE OWNER 1976 Lancia Scorpion. This car was purchased NEW by it's owner in 1976 @ the age of 25. That same gentleman cherished & cared for this car, for the next 47 years. It remained throughout his life as one of his most prized possessions. It ALWAYS had a designated spot in his garage, where it was kept under a car cover. He literally NEVER stopped enjoying this car ! ! !
The Lancia Scorpion was designed & developed by Pinnafarina, the same long time famed desinger behind Ferrari... That is precisely why these cars are often referred to as a "Mini Ferrari".
There is a significant wealth of documentation that accompanys the car. Just one of those items being the log book in which he started & maintained on day one of its purchase. Also a STACK of original brochures, pamphlets, magazines & manuals that feature or are relative to a Lancia Scorpion. Not to mention, an original O.E.M. Lancia Scorpion shop manual. Still present are some of the original manufacturer new car artifacts, such as instructional tags & decals. Even the original set of Lancia inscribed keys remain with the car. Furthermore there is a file folder full of paperwork / receipts for repairs & maintenance performed over the years. There is also a custom made / form fitted set of blue wicker floor mats included as well (pictured underneath the paperwork).
The motor was completely rebuilt in 2012, along with the installation of a new clutch. Documentation, with a list of parts replaced is included. The smog equipment & a/c compressor were removed during this phase, but are still present along with the relative hardware (as pictured).
The convertible top was professionally reupholstered in 2014. The receipts are included.
The body was professionally painted in 2015. However the jams, underside of panels & even the inner rear wheel wells ALL still retain the original factory silver paint.
This is by definition a "turnkey" vehicle. That is ... Without failure, it immediately starts, runs & idles EFFORTLESSLY ! It goes down the road straight & shifts beautifully.
As a result of his continued appreciation for this vehicle, it has actually been preserved & is in remarkable condition for its age. Clear evidence of this, is the simple fact that every single piece of weatherstripping appears to be just as soft & supple as the day it left the factory 47 years ago ! A vinyl steering wheel wrap was removed prior to taking these pictures, hence the outer ring of the steering wheel looks to be flawless in condition.
In conclusion & worth mentioning. The hood ("bonnet") lactch release does not function properly. Apparently the weight of the hood is to heavy for it to lift on its own. Just simply stuffing a rag in between prior to pulling the release, overcomes this obstacle. The lights work as do the turn signals, however the turn signals seem to be tempermental.
The only two forms of payment which will be accepted are cash upon arrival or a bank to bank wire transfer prior to transport.
