1946 Jeep CJ Additional Info:

Hi,

I am selling my 1946 Willys CJ2A. I have owned it for the past 6 months with the intention of restoring it. The person I purchased it from owned it for the last 35 years and it was stored inside. It had a partial restoration at some point during those 35 years. The motor runs well and has great oil pressure. The transmission in it was bad and I have since replaced it with a transmission/transfer case from another jeep. It has a new gasket and seal kit and the gears of both looked very good. I also replaced the TO bearing while I had it apart. The clutch and pressure plate looked good. The trans is 90% hooked up. It needs the e brake and drive shafts hooked up. The body of this jeep is in great condition. No rust on the exterior of the body. At one point the floor had some rust and was replaced with diamond plate steel. The hat channels were are rusted but I don't know that it matters now with the strength of the floor that was put in it. To finish the body would take minor work. The frame is in great condition. The brakes and steering need some work. The master cylinder is frozen which is common on these jeeps when they sit. Also the steering main pivot point needs rewelded or modified. The jeep has new 2.5 inch lift springs all the way around. It has teriflex shackles in the rear. It also has new shocks that come with it. I wish I had the time to finish the restoration. It wouldn't take a lot of effort but with two small children I just don't have the time to spend on it that I would like. So it is time for it to find a good home. This is the only reason I am selling. Once I sell this I am going to buy a newer CJ that doesn't require any work to have fun with the family in. Also include but not pictured is a hard top and doors that is made from aluminum. It needs new windows. Also the roll bar would need to be removed or modified to fit properly. I think I have described everything I know about it. Please let me know if you have any questions. I also have more pics I can send you. I couldn't fit them all here. It is pictures of theextra parts. Drive shafts with new u joints, hocks, kids plate, ilters, wipers and the other misc parts I have for it.Let me know if you would like to see them and Iwill send them to you. Or if you would like tosee something else let me know and I would behappy to take more pictures. I don't think you would be disappointed. For a CJ2A from the Midwest this isin my opinion pretty great condition. Thanks and happy bidding.
