I bought this jeep from an owner in Colorado and I had it shipped to Texas. I took it apart. I had the engine, front and rear differentials professionally rebuilt. I rebuilt the transmission and transfer case. I replaced or rebuilt almost every part one could think of replacing or rebuilding from a mechanical operating standpoint. Mechanically the jeep is sound. I've spent over $15,000 in mechanical rebuild. The body and frame are good, but they are 60 years old so understand that they aren't perfect, but they are good.
The braking system has been rebuilt and stops the vehicle, but I'd have it gone through by a professional because they are brakes and I'm not a professional.
I bought this jeep as a project and I've enjoyed bringing it back to life, but now it is someone else's turn to pick it up and maybe restore it, or maybe just continue to make it better. It's a great piece of American history. I'm selling it because it is time for something else.
I have four new leaf springs that I did not install as the current ones were fine. I will include these too.
Thanks!
