The Scrambler was introduced as an extended pickup version of the CJ-7 for the 1981 model year. Scramblers were produced from 1981-1986. In 1983, American Motor Company produced only 5,405 Scramblers.Recent sale results of 1983 Scramblers (original with low miles and custom builds like this one) average $70k This CJ-8 Scrambler has been the subject of an extensive build that spanned the course of six years under current ownership and oversight. I purchased this Scrambler out of Florida in Feb of 2015 and began building the ULTIMATE Scrambler. I spared no expense during this build, I used the best of the best while assembling it. All rust areas were properly repaired, frame and undercarriage are spotless. The custom silver paint was sourced from Glasurit. Glasurit produces all paints for Bentley. Zermott silver is the color which was sprayed in a MATTE, and looks incredible. The front axles feature Warn locking hubs. The cabin featuresa leather wrapped passenger-side grab handle, and a locking Tuffy center console. The three-spoke steering wheel looks great. The centrally mounted Pro Comp instrumentation includes readouts for oil pressure, transmission temperature, battery voltage as well as an 160-mph speedometer and a 10k-rpm tachometer. With matching inset gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just 3,447 miles since restoration, all of which were added by the seller.Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a Chevrolet 350 engine, the transmission is a 700R four-speed automatic with O/D. It has a Dana dual-range transfer case. The transmission, transfer case, and axles were also rebuilt .Replaced or rebuilt components during 2015-2021:Lo-Car shifter700R TransmissionARB Airlockers front and rearJeep Air Air conditioning and heat, new hosesA Sony Touchscreen AM/FM Bluetooth radio, Sirius XM Radio Backup Camera, Apple CarPlay with remote control5 matching 17″ Mickey Thompson Black matte wheels wrapped with 37 X 12.50 Toyo R/T tiresBlack full hardtop produced by ProBox Tops, top includes (8) 6x9” speakers (1) 400W RMS Plate Amp(1) Double row 50” light Bar (front). I’ve done the best I can to properly describe this Scrambler. It has no known issues, other than normal seepage, and has always been a garage queen. Never off-road, Driven a few miles weekly since build was completed. This Scrambler looks great at red lights, on the road, and in any parking lot. It gets wiped down monthly. Never seen another Scrambler close to this quality. Hate to see it go… Check my feedback, no games, no international bidders, full payment (bank wire) must be made within 3 days of auction close. Please leave a phone number when bidding and/or messaging to keep the tire kickers/wannabes at bay. I will call you to make sure you’re not wasting my time. Thanks for looking.
