1990 Jeep Wrangler Additional Info:

1990 Jeep Wrangler.
This was our Dad's Jeep. Since he passed almost 20 years ago it's remained an unregistered "club car", gently plying but a few miles of private roads in NE Pennsylvania...
Since retiring we finally had a chance to clean it up - including a set of new tires - and were hoping a simple tune-up would get it ready for another 20 years of service. Unfortunately a detailed once-over revealed the following:
- engine starts (willingly when warm, after several cranks when cold) and runs, but won't idle (stalls) due to a vacuum leak somewhere in theintake manifold- a bit of gear oil appears to be leaking through the right rear wheel - we hear this is a known axle issue on some early Wranglers?- front left caliper occasionally binds and overheats
All repairable (at moderate cost), but we no longer have the time or energy to do this work...
The body appears to be in very good condition, with no visible rust or dings (see photos, noting 3 holes in the driver's pillar which supported a broken manual spotlight that was removed).
4 new General Grabber A/T tires (driven <200 miles)
VIN (2J4FY29T0LJ515319) - Although this *is* this Jeep's VIN (see photo), we can't get a valid lookup on eBay, KBB, Edmunds, etc - not sure why (age?)
Thanks for looking!

Wednesday, 8/16:
1) A few watchers have asked about the conditionof the vehicle frame, particularly when viewed through the wheel wells above the tires (I'm told "people will want to see the frame looking in from above the tires . This is where they all rot"). I checked those areas and reported back (with photos) "the frame there looks solid and rust/rot free (save some minor surface oxidation - see pics). Not surprising as the jeep has been garage-kept through my dad's and my ownership, and he was meticulous about keeping it all-over clean..." I can't add more pictures to the listing, but I did take a couple over each rear wheel and can send them to others if interested...

2) re: VIN caveat in the description above - we see now that the eBay listing *will* provide a full history report - please click where appropriate (and please note what a clean report it is...)
