1984 Jeep CJ Laredo Additional Info:
For sale is a 1984 Classic Jeep CJ7 Laredo 4.2L 5spd - Rebuilt Motor and many upgrades with vintage Laredo style!
This Jeep is very solid and retains all of the original Laredo features. Is it perfect? No it's not. But if you know CJs, particularly the Laredo model, you probably know the value in this Jeep. If you're looking for a really nice complete classic Laredo that gets noticed everywhere it goes this may be for you.
While this Jeep is not perfect, it is one of the most complete original Laredo examples you will find. This Jeep retains nearly all of the original Laredo features - original seats front and back, door panels, dash, leather grab bar, steering wheel, tach and clock, chrome grill and wheels, center console, and all the other goodies that these Laredos were known for.
The Jeep's original AMC 4.2L 258 I6 motor was professionally rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. It has the original 5 speed manual transmission, Dana 300 transfer case, 2 1/2" suspension lift, heavy duty steering shaft, HEI distributor, Weber carburetor, Magnaflow exhaust, and is geared 4.10 with a rear locker. It would run 33's better than the stock size tires. The Jeep is very reliable - it starts, runs, steers, drives and brakes as it should. It goes down the road very well and goes in and out of 4WD easily but I've never had it off road. I also have an AFI fuel injection kit for this Jeep that I had intended to install - this adds computer controlled fuel metering and electronic spark advance. I will include this kit at the Buy it Now price.
Everything works, all lights and gauges, even the original tach and clock!
I even have keys for everything original - ignition, doors, liftgate, center console, and glovebox!
The Jeep has 141K miles with a clear VA title in my name. The frame and body are very, very solid. The floors are perfect top and bottom. The interior carpet was removed and rhino-lined. There is some rust bubbling evident on both front fenders behind the spot welded panels, a small bit of rust around the lower left windshield glass, and around the hood hinge. All of the normal CJ rust areas are solid as can be. The Jeep was repainted at some point and the paint is okay with small touch ups on some edges, and could probably use a repaint or professional buff/polish at some point.
This Jeep came from Texas and has been garage kept since I've owned it. Always best to see a vehicle in person but I am happy to answer any questions or send any pictures. I have over 100 high resolution pictures top, bottom, inside and out - please ask if you'd like to see something specific.
If you're an adventurous soul, and depending how far you are from Virginia Beach, you could drive this Jeep to it's new home. I will not arrange shipping but if you'd like it trailered or shipped, I am more than happy to meet your shipper at an easy loading location.
Too many projects - cars, home, work, etc....I searched for a long time for this particular Jeep. Unfortunately I don't have the time or lifestyle right now to enjoy it, so I have made the difficult decision to sell. I am listing this locally as well - I hope it finds a good home!
