1981 Jeep CJ Laredo Additional Info:

This Laredo was sold new in California and had the same owner until 2013 when the folks that I bought if from took hold of it. In the last five years or so it sat at their property and they used it as their little ranch work horse. The jeep is extremely dry with almost zero rust! There is a smidge of bubbling on the cowling but none anywhere else on the entire vehicle. The floors and underside of the jeep are really clean. The frame still has most of the factory paint! The top, fenders, and fender flares show significant paint fade. At some point the hood and cowling was repainted. I’m guessing due to paint fade? The clear coat is fading and will need redone at some point. There is also a little black overspray on the rear tailgate, and little white scratch on passenger door. Appears someone decided to do a little touch up on the tire carrier. It looks like it would come off fairly easy. The body on this jeep is really impressive. There is a dime size ding on the front left fender that’s hardly noticeable and a couple little dings on the tailgate. Other than that the body is super straight.

The interior is decent for its age. The seats show some wear, mainly on the lower portion where the booty sits, the backrests are in fair shape. Both grab handles are broken on the door and the dashpad has some cracks. It appears someone tried to replace the fuel/temp gauge and failed. Also, the clock doesn’t work. Also comes will full factory carpet kit. All the glass is good. The doors shut/open/latch as they should.

The jeep has most of the engine emissions stuff disconnected. It appears there is still some items hooked up? The previous owner informed me when he got it that it was having trouble running due to all the vacuum hoses/emissions requirements. He had as much removed as would allow to get the vehicle running well. It does appear to still have the original exhaust. There is a small hole in the converter but it’s not loud. The engine starts and runs smooth with a little stutter every once in a while (I’m sure it could use a tune up). It drives well going down the road. Brakes, clutch, steering all work as they should. There are no clunks or rattles. Everything feels tight. Tires appear to be almost new!
