Please allow ample time for our high resolution photos and video load of this rare 1962 Jeep FC-150 4-Wheel-Drive Forward Control truck, thank you! 1962 Willys / Jeep FC-150 Forward Control COE Truck Video Below / Enjoy the Presentation 4-Wheel-Drive / SEE VIDEO OF THIS FC-150 IN ACTION - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIbeHF1M-rk The Forward Control Jeep series was designer Brooks Stevens' attempt to improve versatility and make efficient use of space of lightweight pickups by placing the cab above and in front of the engine. This provided more interior space and allowed the pickup bed to be larger without increasing overall length of the vehicle. The FC-150, based on a CJ-5 platform, was the lighter duty short wheel base model. Also available was the FC-170, a heavy duty long wheel base version. These Willys Jeeps, later Kaiser Jeeps, were produced from 1957 until 1965 in limited numbers. This particular earlymodel year '62 Jeep FC-150 4x4 truck was found in dry storage in the corner of a Texas barn by the last owner. It was then registered on the streetin 1998 after some mechanical restoration efforts by the previous owner ( New Old Stock Military crate engine installed) . Today it runs out strong and drives down the road, goes through the gears and is an overall solid and enjoyable FC-150 as is or could be restored to the level of your choosing. I sold this Jeep FC to my friend, the current owner, in California who just spent a great deal of time and money to bring it to a much better state of road-worthiness. It is currently titled, registered, and residing in the great state of California. The brake system was completely gone through. New front and rear brake lines were installed. The wheel cylinders have been replaced front to back. The master cylinder was also replaced. All 4 brake drums were replaced. The front wheel bearings have been repacked. We have receipts for the work performed by an oustanding area shop. The light duty FC-150 Jeep COE designed 5-Windowtruck is certainly difficult to find. It has a clean and clear California title. The owner is only selling due to time and space constraints! I hope you enjoy the presentation. Surprisingly this is the 1st Jeep Forward Control series truck I have ever worked with, what a unique vehicle this is. I wonder how many survive today? They are difficult to find in a running and driving condition like this one. I am based out of Greenville, Texas. You need a JeepFC-150 truck, specifically this green '62 model I'm showcasing. A factory brochure is included with this Jeep FC-150. Formidable in appearance and function, the FC-150 was Jeep's light duty truck, powered by the Military-Grade 4 cylinder paired with a 3-speed manual transmission with 4-wheel-drive high and low range. This rig runs out good and steers surprisingly well. The engine is not smoking and does not appear to have any noticeable issues (See Video). The brakes just underwent an extensive overhaul with verifying receipts (lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, drums replaced) The gearbox goes through all the gears and the clutch grips as it should. The exterior shows patina and an overall solid body with some flaws and bruises. The only notable rust I could find was in the front cab corners, detailed in the photographs. The flooring and framework appears to be Texas solid throughout, as do the interior cubby storage areas, lower rocker panels, bed, and tailgate. Again, pleasesee all detailed photos. The driver's side window glass is cracked as well, but intact and usable. (New glass pane is $90 on Ebay)
All of the glass is intact throughout. The doors are solid as is the cab and bed. This is the original color, likely repainted at some time over the years. The interior features the original seats which are hinged to raise up and very easy to remove. These seats are in very good condition, both the vinyl, seat bottoms and seat backs. Please see the video for better detail on the seating. The flooring is original and solid. The engine cover is easily removed and re-installed. There is also a trap door for quick engine access, also from the passenger compartment. The headliner is intact and in great shape. The basic dash retains the original speedometer cluster. The speedometer is not working, just in need of a cable. The steering wheel is original. The horn is not working. The heater assembly box appears intact throughout The Hurricane-4 4-cylinder engine was factory rated at 78 horsepower and moves this light-duty FC-150 down the road just fine ( SEE VIDEO - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIbeHF1M-rk) This was a crate engine, new old stock, installed in 1998 and is in very good running condition. This engine was professionally installed by the previous Texas owner. Again, the engine runs out strong! The bed is solid throughout as is the tailgate. You can see where wooden stakes were likely mounted around the bed in earlier times of this FC-150s life. The front cab corners are bad about holding water in these and both have some rust, see above photos, otherwise this is a really solid old '62 Willys Jeep. I practice full disclosure. Be sure to view my customer feedback. The clutch slave has been rigged up to work with this reservoir. I lifted this Willys / Jeep up to show you the frame and floorboards, which are exceptionally solid throughout. The left rear fender has had some work done, a minor dent beat out and someone didn't finish the job. The inner fenderwells look solid and original front to back. Again, the flooring is in exceptional condition. Check out the WARN locking hubs...
