Up for sale is a 1982 Jeep Scrambler, Oriental Red in Color with the 258 CID six cylinder engine. It has original 2 barrel carburetor and automatic transmission. The scrambler is 4x4 with power steering. The Scrambler has approximately 19,000 original miles and has had no body work or repaint performed to the best of my knowledge. The paint is in excellent condition for this Scrambler which is truly a survivor. The options and accessories on the Jeep are all Jeep Brand original, with the exception of a rear steel bumper overlay. The top and doors have been replaced with NOS. The vehicle comes with the original window sticker.
Technically this is a 2 owner vehicle with me as the second owner. I purchased it from an individual in Ohio who had title to the vehicle for one day having obtained it from the original owner while vacationing in PA. All or the black steel accessories including the front bumper, front tow bar (not shown), seat frames, side steps, rear bumper, rear bumperettes and tire carrier are fresh powder coated. Wheels are original paint with new Wrangler white letter tires. Belts and hoses and shocks have been replaced. The exhaust has been replaced with an OEM factory equivalent. Ball joints have been replaced with NOS. This jeep drives fantastic at all speeds.
There are two small dents in the hood which appear to have been damaged by someone flipping the tow bar up too fast. See close-up pictures for detail. There is also a small stone dent on the front driver fender which is fairly typical. Aside from this, the jeep has amazing paint and finish top and bottom for a 33 year old vehicle. The tow bar (draw bar) is listed on the window sticker.
The Tire carrier is unique and I have not been able to find a scrambler with the same tire carrier, which I found in a dealer only accessory catalog. It appears that the jeep came with a roll bar mounted spare and this option was added by the dealer after shipment from factory. A very unique component. I also have a safari top which is Factory OEM and came with the jeep.
This jeep is ready to drive. It is also for sale locally and I do reserve to end this auction early if the vehicle does sell locally.
