Looking over the specs for this very impressive 1984 Jeep CJ7, one word keeps showing up: NEW. Given a total rebuild within the past few years, this is a well-built and very fresh CJ that's ready to show or have fun blasting around the trails. And both tasks will be especially enjoyable thanks to a great-running and bulletproof 6-cylinder powerplant under the hood and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Wearing recent black paint that's ready to hit the street or the show field, this Jeep looks right and never has to worry about looking shabby ever again. The paint and bodywork were done a little while ago, and might be the oldest features on the truck, which tells you something about how comprehensively it's been freshened. For a vehicle built for off-roading, the finish is pretty darned good, with a great shine and a minimum of bumps and bruises that would suggest it's been used hard. The bodywork is obviously in very good order and someone spent the time to get the Jeep's flat flanks smooth and wave-free. Fender flares, silver Laredo stripes, and a heavy-duty tire rack out back give it a heavy-duty off-roading vibe that clearly speaks to its abilities rather than just wanting to have the look. On the other hand, things like the folding windshield, round headlights, and traditional chrome grille are reminders that Jeeps have always been, well, Jeeps.
You can see more evidence of this Jeep's off-road credentials inside, where you'll find a set of original CJ bucket seats that are in remarkable condition. The dash was painted to match the bodywork, then filled with stock gauges, including a factory tach. However, it's not completely uncivilized, there's an AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash and it feeds extra speakers that actually sound decent even with the wind whipping past the windshield. The floors are protected by spray-on bed liner material, so you can just rinse it out after a day of fun and it should last forever. And in the event of inclement weather, a fiberglass hardtop and steel doors are included, making it an ideal partner for all-weather fun.
With a 258 cubic inch inline-6 under the hood, there aren't many places this Jeep can't go. A fresh rebuild makes it a reliable performer off-road and has the kind of low-RPM torque that's critical for off-roading fun. There's a fresh carburetor up top but it seems to be mostly stock, so service and maintenance will always be easy. Look closely and you'll see things like a new alternator, new radiator, new master cylinder, new belts and hoses, and, well, you get the picture. Power steering and power disc brakes are welcome on a vehicle with such large tires and things like the power steering pump, hoses, radiator, water pump, and thermostat are new. The 5-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case mean that it's easy to climb over obstacles at barely a walking pace. A modest lift kit was installed just recently, although the undercarriage is so clean, it seems a shame to get it dirty. A new exhaust system gives it a great sound that and there's lots of fresh hardware underneath as well. Chrome 15-inch wheels look fantastic, especially wrapped in giant BFGoodrich off-road radials that are ready for just about anything.
Well-built and full of new equipment, it's obvious that this Jeep was built for fun above all else, and it definitely delivers in that regard. Call today!
