1989 Jeep Cherokee Base Sport Utility 2-Door Additional Info:
This daily driven1989 Jeep Cherokee XJ two dooris in its third owner, originally purchased from Pollard Jeep in Boulder Colorado. It has 286231 adult driven miles on the odometer. The suspension and drive train is in its original factory configuration. The engine was replaced at one time wewere toldbut the previous owner was not sure when. It runs and drives great with no issues. It passedtheColorado smog check both visually and tailpipe with no problem in May of 2015.Everything works, inside and out, even the digital clock. Occasionally the serpentine belt will squeal on startup, it has moisture at the front crankshaft seal and moisture at the seal between the trans and transfer case. other than that no leaks and definitely no leaks on the ground. The previous owner had the clutch replaced but again at what mileage is unknown. TheA/C system was recharged and an A/C hose replaced last summer and updated to 134A. it blows cold. The interior is original with a small frayed hole in the drivers seat and a cracked spot onthe dash. the original owners handbook is in the glove compartment. It has a recent "B" level 2 stage white paint job over the original white paint. There is minor surface rust under the vehicle and under the doors. An attempt was made to arrest the rustinside the doors right before paint. Close inspection will reveal minorcrash damageonthe passenger side bumper and fender but besides thatno evidence of major crash damage. ( I think it was a smack into a snow bank by the previous owner)There are minorimperfections, cracked lenses, cracked and deteriorated window weatherstrip,(scrubbers on driver's and passenger windows)passenger door lock cylinder does not open from outside with key,and things here and there which is to be expected on a 28 year old car but nothing that prevents it from driving great. Listed below are things that have been done under our ownership:-5 new Goodyear wrangler tires with about 5000 miles on them-5 15x8 black steel wheels, used in good condition-front wheel alignment-new clutch master cylinder-very recent oil change with synthetic blend oil andzinc additive (critical!)-complete tune up, w/ valve cover gasket-new electric in tank fuel pump and filter-new axle bearings and seals on right side rear- new B level paint job-new windshield and wiper blades-A/C hose and recharge-new electric fan-new coolant tank, thermostatand all hoses-new steering dampner
