1988 Jaguar XJ-S H & E ConvertibleIn approximately March of 1988, Jaguar began to build the XJS Convertible in their own factory - but prior to this, the only way to acquire one was having it coachbuilt by hand. This particular example is 1 of approximately 2,100 hand built XJS Convertibles made byHess and Eisenhardt. Manufactured in September of 1987, it is amongst the last of the coach built models and there are no accurate reports to how many are still on the road today.
Draped in a beautiful Nimbus White paint, Hess & Eisenhardt chose a tan canvas to match the Barley Leather beige found throughout the interior.To further compliment the rich tones of the Barley interior, rich burl wood wraps the all original dash, door panels and console controls. The wood remains lustrous, vibrant and clear - with no large peeling or cracks.
The factory 5.3 Liter V12 with Bosch electronic fuel injection starts and runs with ease and the TH400 3-speed automatic shifts smoothly without any hesitations.
